Another side of Maldives.

For sea lovers, for the people have common pilgrimage and considered that place is one of the tour in a lifetime, Maldives Paradise Island.

Previously a number of friends asked me if I liked island travel to the Maldives, why not? For this question, I always gives me giggle, considered to Maldives Travel is an unattainable dream because the cost to Maldives is not for the faint of heart.

Until a day Airasia made promotions, a moment of oppurtunities for me to get a cheap ass air tickets to Maldives are cannot be missed.

For the record, I started my research as I do not believe that the Maldives can only be an expensive luxury tour, there has to be another kind of ultra-cool and cheap way to travel. Spending money to see the world is a price, but being luxurious are not ancillary.

Many people have the impression that the Maldives is inseparable from the clear sea waters and luxurious water villa. Apparently through the trip I went to Maldives for 6D5N, I saw a totally different perspective of Maldives from how people portrait in social media. Happiness and friendliness are its embodiment that how I experience.

Most importantly for this trip, is just cost me MYR3000 to be there. :D

------------------------ ✈️
DAY 1 : KLIA2 to MALE AIRPORT
Airasia promo both way flight MYR640 per pax from Kuala Lumpur to Male airport took about 4 hours+
A
Tips - Dhiraagu 15GB travel sim card can be bought at the airport entrance which just cost USD20, can be used by 2-3 people and we did not even use more than 6GB till the last day of our trip, go crazy with it.

Unfortunately, is 8.30pm as we landed at Velana International Airport. So we have to booked a hotel nearby the airport as we can reach by a station away with public bus.

Hotel : U1 Inn, MYR170 per night.
Publis bus : RM5 per pax

DAY 2 : Public ferry to Male City - Maafushi Island
Eat breakfast, went to the nearby supermarket to get some snack, take a taxi to the nearby ferry terminal with just MYR13. Then we purchased 2 tickets to Male City, MYR13 for 2 person and will be reached in about 30 minutes.
As we reach Male City, we took some time to see around what they offer in their capital city.

After then, we take a MYR9 cab to Vilingili Jetty, the only jetty which got public ferry to Maafushi Island which cost us USD2 per pax. This, this jetty is where I seen most of the local resident and small business owner use to transport food, water and stuff to Maafushi island. This journey took us about 3 hours to reach our destination, its long but is cheap, that's what matters.

Maafushi Island is a local island, quite a numbers of indigenous resident, mostly from Sri Lanka, India and bangladesh. They are super courteous and friendly! Of course, there are many foreign visitors, very lively, here there are many good hotels, restaurants, water sports and souvenirs store. Maafushi is a small, within walking distance to every point of needs. And we stayed in Water Breeze Hotel, friendly home decor and design, spacious room and employee services are good. One night hotel RM270! ✌

DAY 3 - SNORKELING IN BIYADHOO ISLAND - SANDBANK - DOLPHIN TOUR-   TURTLE REEF
The activities to do in Maldives are not limited to enjoy in water villa and resorts, snorkelling is one of the must do at here. The sea water are by far the most crystal clear and most saturated terquoise color I seen by far, its fascinating as you can see there are lots of different kind of fish and colorful coral around. The package are cost about USD35 per person, totally worth the money.

DAY 4 - DAY TRIP TO CENTARA RAS FUSHI
Icom Excursion also recommended us a full day water villa resort package. We are very surprised that actually there are lots of day trip to luxury water villa, which speedboat acceess, lunch, snorkelling and most importantly unlimited free flow of alcohols which consists of beer, cocktails and drinks. The package cost USD130 per pax, depart at 8am and back at 6pm. Just with this, my Maldives experiences elevated.

DAY 5 - BIKINI BEACH
Chill day, we did not go out of the island as we wanted to chill and sunbathing at the beach, enjoying the sun. This is some interesting facts we did not know until we planned for a trip to Maldives, Maldives is a Islamic country and bikini wear are not allow although you are in an island. No worries though, they have set up a Bikini-allow vicinity nearby the beach.

Tips : Maafushi Island has lots of hotel and resturant provides romantic dinner by the beach comes with a reasonbale price, get one. There's a floating bar near to Maafushi island too, its a ship.. What you need to do is request it from Kaani hotel and they will provide free boat transfer to the floating bar and its FOC! :) You can get alcoholic drink and food over there which is cost 7 USD for a beer.

Day 6 - Maafushi Island - Velana International Airport
We took our breakfast in the early morning, 6-8USD per pax depending on what ya eating. After we packed up our things, we back to Icom Exursion Center to purchased ticket to Velana International Airport, USD25 per pax.

After returning home, I wanna say it out loud that Maldives is not as expensive and complex as people expected. Generally is depending of what you choose to travel and experience for the trip. I just choose a simple way to see Maldives.

So yea, this is Maldives, the Island of Paradise.<3
